With a metal lid secured by the ID.LOCK®  Security System, a fire smolders; it cannot spread as easily, as it is away from the wind and the fire is more confined.

It gives the fire department more time to react.

We believe that some insurers will soon demand that you keep your container locked with a concealed padlock.

April 26, 2004 - Sidney/North Saanich, British Columbia, Canada.  Sidney Fire Department and Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are investigating a fire which broke out early Sunday morning in a dumpster and spread to adjacent law offices at 9838 4th Street, Sidney.  The dumpster was locked to wooden stairs outside the building, which were destroyed.  The fire also damaged the outside of the building.

April 23, 2004 - Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.  Fire and police officials are tracing an arsonist's path of destruction Monday night with damages in the ballpark of $6,000.  About seven fire calls were fielded between 11 p.m. and 2:15 a.m.  All were put out, with no extension into structures, and it was mainly hedges and dumpsters that were targeted, says assistant fire chief Ian Josephson.  A dumpster fire started in the parking lot behind The Progress office, followed by one in a newspaper recycling bin near the Riding Club Hall at the end of Spadina.  Also hit was a dumpster near Cheam Sports.

April 26, 2004 - Vancouver Sun, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  Vancouver's world-renowned "pot block" was engulfed in smoke Sunday morning as fire destroyed a significant piece of the City's heritage.  The three alarm fire raged through a two-storey building at 311-317 West Hastings, abutting the Blunt Brothers Cafe.  Vintage clothing store Cabbages and Kinx were also destroyed, as was Spartacus Books.  The Vancouver fire department said initial reports were that the fire started about 6:30 a.m. in a dumpster in the back lane behind the buildings.  It quickly spread to two more dumpsters and then to the rear of 311 West Hastings.
